Building a Clean Future, One Pearl Home at a Time

What Is Pearl Home?

Welcome to Pearl Home Pearl Homes & Marina. Located on a canal, moments from the Gulf of Mexico in the heart of Florida’s historic Cortez fishing village, Pearl Home is a net-positive energy community and the first of its kind in the United States.

We’re so thrilled that this community is finally becoming a reality. It’s my passion and my life’s work to bring responsible, sustainable home building mainstream. Pearl Home is a major step in that direction. Each home within this community will produce more energy than it consumes by employing sonnenBatterie technology. The 86 homes on our waterfront site will comprise a de-facto power grid, which brings with it a host of possibilities and exciting implications.

What really excites me about this project are the people that will make Pearl Home their home (or second home). Any developer can purchase a plot of land, construct a collection of homes, fill them with families and call it a day. That’s not what Pearl Home is all about. The beauty of Pearl Home, in addition to its waterfront views, lies in its potential to become so much greater than the sum of its parts.

The question in home building has always been this: How can we generate and store enough clean solar for our homes? There are an average of 244 sunny days each year in Southwest Florida. It’s certainly not for lack of natural resource. To fill the gap, we partnered with Sonnen. Together, we’re building communities of sustainably designed Pearl Homes that share solar and clean the grid, one Pearl Home at a time.

If the technology exists to make modern homes more efficient, more socially and environmentally conscious and impeccably designed down to the smallest detail, why wouldn’t we take advantage of it? There’s no reason for discerning buyers to settle for less-than when we have a chance to change the game with every home we build and community we create.

In addition to the work we’re doing with sonnenBatterie to bring net-positive energy model mainstream in the U.S. market, we’ve also partnered with Google, the world’s leader in home automation. These homes work for you: from the Nest × Yale Lock, Nest Hello Doorbell on the front door, Nest Cameras throughout, Nest Protect and Nest Secure products to give you piece of mind, and the Nest Thermostat to keep you cool and energy efficient — and finally the Google Home Assistant to help you manage it all. Wherever you are in the world, your Pearl Home can be controlled through your smartphone.

We also understand all too well that Florida’s weather can be volatile. When major weather events occur, peace of mind and safety is paramount. That’s why we designed these homes to meet the standard for a Category 5 storm. Again, the technology and building materials exist to create sustainable homes, which include steel, sustainable timber and carbon fiber.

We believe everyone should have access to sustainable homes. We believe that access to top-of-the-line building materials, appliances and appointments shouldn’t be limited to the wealthy.

As I’ve said, Pearl Home is more than a collection of homes. It’s a giant leap forward toward a sustainable future — and your future of a life well lived. We would love to welcome you to our Research and Design Center to show you one of our homes. Click here to schedule your tour now and take a significant step toward a life well lived.
