Building a Clean Future, One Pearl Home at a Time

Building a Clean Future, One Pearl Home at a Time

When it comes to the future of homebuilding, the talk is centered on how we can build houses that will contribute to a self-sustaining human habitat. Global warming and scarce resources present an alarming reality and we need to start taking action now. So, that’s exactly what we did.

Due to recent leaps in technology, we can proudly say that we’ve given green building and solar energy a new meaning. Our Pearl Homes aren’t only efficient, but also smart. Our system can meet your needs in a clean, effective, and sophisticated way.

Why You Should Consider Living in a Home with Solar Energy

It seems odd to have to make an argument for solar energy since it defines itself through its most valuable asset:  it does not run out. Replacing fossil fuels is not just a matter of principle, but it rapidly becomes a smart investment, since coal and oil resources will become scarce in 50-100 years, according to the best estimates. And, that’s without mentioning the harm that fossil fuels are causing to our planet. From air and water pollution to global warming, the signs that we need to start moving towards renewable energy sources, such as solar, are more pressing than ever.

Solar energy is replenished in a short period of time, providing clean energy and a type of consumption that is easier on your conscience when it comes to the impact it has on our planet.  Responsible living is a choice for an increasing number of communities that are currently using innovative technologies to preserve our environment for future generations.

And, the truth is that most people and governments alike are beginning to comprehend the role that clean energy plays. In 2018, California took a giant step towards clean-energy goals by becoming the first state to require all new homes to have solar power beginning in 2020. The adoption of this standard is a quantum leap for the home-building industry. The only problem remaining is that although we have the capacity to generate clean energy, storing it presents a challenge. Our Pearl Homes are the solution.

We have partnered with Sonnen, the world’s leader in energy management and storage, to give our customers a reliable way of using green energy. Our Pearl Homes can store their excess energy and use it when you need it the most, such as during an outage or a storm.

What You Need to Know about Pearl Homes & Marina

Located in the heart of Cortez, a unique fishing village on Florida’s West Coast, our distinctive homes combine the excitement of the latest technologies with our great appreciation and love for the nature surrounding us. The Pearl Homes define a positive future, where we build a ‘life well lived’ on energy efficiency and unmovable respect for the environment.

Pearl Homes are designed to be self-sustainable and independent from the grid: a community powered by the sun and assisted by innovative technologies in managing and perfecting it.

The functions that we incorporate in our Pearl Homes are designed to work together as an ecosystem, constantly adapting their performance to react to each other, the environment and your preferences. Talk about smart homes? Ours are brilliant!

In addition to being a modern, luxurious home, every Pearl Home includes cutting-edge features:

  1. Powered by the Sun

The starting point for green building is having a renewable source of energy. Pearl Homes rely on the power of the sun, which shines notoriously bright in this part of the world. Our own Research and Design Center works with partners like the Florida Solar Energy Center to produce an independent energy grid for the community to manage itself, meeting the owners’ needs in the best way possible.

Throughout the development phase of the Pearl Home, we partnered with Sonnen to help us build a reliable system that will allow our customers to be truly independent from the grid.

  1. Energy Storage Solution: Sonnen

Because solar energy depends on favorable weather conditions, our solution comes from Sonnen – a world leader in managing and storing energy. Being able to store the extra energy that is produced when conditions are ideal and use it when needed, gives our Pearl Homes the great advantage of being independent of the grid. That’s not to say that you won’t be able to access it anymore. You can rest assured that if you ever need it, you can get the energy your home requires from the grid to charge your Sonnen energy storage system.

  1. Google Home

The brain of each Pearl Home is its Google Home Assistant, which micromanages the entire habitat from energy usage and distribution, to lighting, air conditioning, home security and irrigation.

  1. LEED Platinum

Every single detail is considered in the context of green building, which is why Pearl Homes use state-of-the-art fixtures and appliances, all compatible with our vision. Not only are LEED buildings more energy efficient, but they are also safer and healthier for their residents.

We built Pearl Homes to the highest standards required by the USGBC in order to achieve the LEED Platinum certification, the highest possible level.

We Are Building the Future, One Pearl Home at a Time

Building green and offering a net-zero home to our like-minded clients is a big achievement for this time and place. Our hope for the future is to create excitement and love for sustainable energy and to show how ‘a life well lived’ must be built on respect for the generations to come.
